It's Time to be Mobile-Friendly
If your website still isn't mobile-friendly, there are several reasons to make the change
In February, Google announced on their Webmaster Central Blog that they would be making two new changes to their search algorithm.
One of these changes will be aimed at helping users find more mobile-friendly content on the Web. In order to accomplish this, Google will be rewarding the websites that are viewable on tablets and smartphones. This is directly from their blog:
"Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices."
If this all confuses you and you aren't sure if your website is optimized for mobile devices, click on picture below and enter your website's URL to test it.
If you're doubtful that transforming your website into a mobile-friendly one will actually help your business, answer this question: How many people do you actually know that only surf the Web on a desktop computer?
People are browsing the Internet on smartphones and tablets more and more. This trend will only continue as younger generations of children, who are immersed in the world of mobile technology and Social Media, come of age and become consumers.
What's holding you back? Mobile-websites are becoming a necessity to be competitive online. Google knows it. Your customers know it and would probably prefer that you have a mobile-website.
