Do you like Repeat Business?

Uncategorized | 0 Comments »

It’s Valentines Day today so I figured I would share the tale of two flower shops in my local area (Niagara Falls, NY).    They sell very similar products,  have the same store size and are both in prime locations.  One is highly successful, the other place barely is able to make ends meet. What do these two stores do differently?

Some people are thinking price,  others quality maybe even management…

The answer: follow up marketing.

Shop A gathers your full address and email address and places this information in their database.  The day after your purchase, they send you a survey along with a coupon for $5 off.  This store is constantly sending both emails and printed material making sure they stay in front of me.

Shop B on the other hand does little marketing.  They gather my address, but send me 1 letter all year: Don’t forget Valentines Day.

Which shop do you think gets ALL my business?   Shop A of course!

Happy Valentines day fellow business owners, speakers, authors, executives and entrepreneurs.

Why Do You need Multiple Streams of Traffic™ ?

Multiple Streams of Traffic | 0 Comments »

Hopefully you have noticed the title of our blog – Multiple Streams of Traffic™. Most likely you are thinking, what the heck does it mean?

You run a flower shop in the Buffalo, NY area. You rely on two types of customers – the ones that know where your store is located that come in and patronage you often and the ones that do a google search for Flower Shop Buffalo.  You know you will always be in the top because you pay .50 cents per click for a variety of keywords.

Now imagine, what if the good city of Buffalo decided to do a MAJOR construction project right out-side your store, customers now have limited access to get to you, if they really want to get to you they will need to spend an extra ten minutes to do so. But wait, you have two main competitors within a mile of you and there is NO construction there. What do you think is going to happen? You are most likely going to lose some business.

Most business owners wouldn’t be able to sleep well at night in this situation – BUT if you diversified yourself, spread your eggs across different baskets you would be safe. You would have your google ad words account going, a yahoo account going, some postcard marketing to gain new customers, at the same time focusing your efforts on your current customers- sending them hand written notes, and a week later an email. You are using a variety of tactics to make sure you do in fact get Multiple Streams of Traffic™ to your store and your web site.

What if one day (it would be a dark one) Google went out of business? They closed up shop and said, we just cant do it anymore. They simply bowed their heads down to Yahoo.

If 95% of your business was coming from Google, you might as well close your doors as well, along with millions of others.

Why put yourself in that type of situation? Yes, we understand the chances of Google going out of business are slimmer than a shaving of ice, BUT it still could happen.

If you were using Multiple Streams of Traffic™ you would be relaxed knowing that your online press releases were bringing you business, that your email opt in list of 20,000 is worth its weight in and that your top ten organic rankings across ALL the search engines keep you in business.

The fact of the matter is, you need to be using Multiple Streams of Traffic to not only keep yourself diversified, but to make sure you are making as much money as your possibly can. If you are using only one source of marketing or traffic, strategically adding another one or two should skyrocket your sales!
